Save The Date

Picture
This is the save the date I designed! I am very pleased with how it came out. I ordered this printed on large magnets from Vistaprint.

Here are some tips for ordering custom designs on Vistaprint:
- Download the free trial of Photoshop from Adobe for the design.
- Use the Vistaprint template for photoshop, the margins and proper resolution are set up perfectly
- Size the background to be the full size of the template, then keep all text well within the smallest margin
- Use CMYK codes for the colors, this represents what you will see when the document is printed. RGB is based on the color that your computer screen shows, not the printed color.

While I'm not saying that these tips are foolproof, this is what I did and my magnets printed perfectly. I have seen several complaints about the color being off or a white line on the edge of vistaprint products and I think this method will help eliminate a lot of those issues.

STD Stamps

Picture
I came across a 4 hour sale on custom stamps from Zazzle so I scored these for face value! I have about 20 extra stamps now so I guess my bills will have really cute stamps for a while!

Zazzle tip: the small size stamps are HUGE! I didn't anticipate that they would be twice the size of a normal stamp so they didn't fit on some envelopes and I had to reprint.

Invitations

I'm planning to make my own pocket fold invites. Since most guests will be from out of town, I think it makes it easier on them to keep their wedding info organized while traveling.

Invitation Mockup #1

Picture
My first mockup isn't so bad, right??? I will use a heavier weight paper for the inserts and actual invitation. Since this picture I have already changed the font and spacing of the titles on the inserts.

Not sure if you can really tell on this picture, but for the reception card, the only word you can see above the pocket is "cocktails". This makes me laugh, but I should probably fix it...

At long last I have decided to DIY my pocketfolds according to these instructions: http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/12/08/make-your-own-pocketfold-2/

Here's a pic of one of the first pocketfolds to make it through the assembly line.

Wrap-Around Labels

Picture
After printing addresses on the labels for our STDs, I decided that I would not go through that again for the invitations. Feeding envelopes one by one in the printer was a major PITA. I printed these labels on full sheet labels from www.onlinelabels.com.

The template can be found here: http://federicodesigns.com/2009/04/damask-wrap-around-labels/

Invites in all their glory

Seeing the invitations finished was by far the biggest relief of the entire wedding.

Program Inspiration

I plan to make fans like these for our programs.

Monograms

Here is a sampling of some monograms I have made. I made all of them in PowerPoint.

Seating Chart

I think I will go with something along the lines of this for our seating chart.
