What every DIY Bride needs

Picture
...is a good paper trimmer. I wasted a lot of money buying Fiskars trimmers because the grid lines are just a sticker and in my experience they are always crooked. Some brides have lots of luck with these, but they just left me frustrated because I could never get a perfect cut. I bought this Cricut trimmer for my pocketfolds and it is AMAZING. For <$10 it is a steal! The gridlines are in the plastic, so they are straight. I also like how the arm really locks into place.

After a paper trimmer, my most useful tool has been this craft knife by Fiskars. It is very easy to hold. I just align a ruler to the paper and cut away!

Scrapbook

Picture
This scrapbook was my first official wedding purchase! I saw it at Target and fell in love because it's exactly the look I'm going for with the wedding. I just didn't have a use for it until recently.

I'm not entirely sure how this will be used. I might make a scrapbook for us to enjoy on our own if I can't think of a wedding-related use for this thing.

Photo Sharing Cards

Picture
I ordered these off of VistaPrint with the classic 250 free business cards deal. I plan to put them on the tables and in the thank you notes.

Envelope Liners

Picture
Here is the finished product! I'm really happy with how they turned out. For instructions, please see my instructions page.

Just Married Car Door Magnet

Picture
I ordered a free large magnet from VistaPrint for our Just Married sign.

Cake Topper

Picture
I ordered a C cake topper from crafty eddy in Edwardian. Our baker is probably not going to like that I DIY'd my cake topper, but she can deal. See DIY Instructions for more info.

Cuff links

Picture
In honor of FI and his nerdy groomsmen, I made cuff links out of dice used for dungeons and dragons. I ordered the cuff links from ebay $5 for 5 sets and the dice were $.70 each on amazon.com. I simply glued the dice to the cuff link using leftover E600 glue from my cake topper. You can glue just about anything to the cuff link backs! This project took about 5 minutes and our guys are going to love them.

Bride Hoodie

Picture
Super super easy! I ordered a $10 from oldnavy.com and a Bride iron-on rhinestone from Ebay for about $3.

Monogram Painting

Picture
Inspired by Bride's Magazine. I traced the monogram with fabric transfer tracing paper found in the sewing section of Hobby Lobby then painted the monogram.

Seating Chart

Picture
Part 1 of the seating chart. I found a cork board in a frame at Hobby Lobby. I disassembled the frame and stapled fabric to the cork and reassembled everything. The fabric is called medallions, but it reminds me of limes. Part 2 will have the tables and a list of guests added.

Table Numbers

I go to school in Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art has these awesome numbers on the lawn. The idea in my head is for FI and I to take pictures with each of the numbers to use as our table numbers in a similar fashion as the ones below. There are 9 numbers plus a replica of the "LOVE" from Philly, which is exactly how many tables we should have! I guess I'll get creative with photoshop if we have more than 9 guest tables...
